Design Engineer - Creative Studio

Design-focused frontend engineer building and maintaining AI-powered Creative and Studio products. The role requires React, Next.js, and TypeScript expertise, strong UX sensibility, and a portfolio of compelling web experiences; formal degrees and certifications are not required.

About the job

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain Creative & Studio products, including Image/Video, Flows, Agentic Creation, Audiobooks, and Music/Studio features.
  • Ship end-to-end features across the full stack of Creative products and help shape product and feature direction.
  • Build UX/UI workflows and development roadmaps for creative and generative-AI products.
  • Scope and build proof-of-concept products, sometimes with partner customers.
  • Improve existing products through UX changes, new functionality, and integrations.
  • Collaborate with Design, Engineering, Growth, and Sales to create cohesive web experiences and solve customer and internal workflow problems.
  • Execute and iterate on designs using user feedback and best practices.
  • Maintain internal infrastructure so products remain live, performant, and secure.
  • Mentor less experienced frontend-leaning engineers.
  • Work with large-scale datasets supporting future generative-AI voice models.

Requirements

  • Frontend engineering experience with strong design sensibility.
  • Proficiency with Next.js and React.
  • Web development experience using TypeScript and React.
  • Portfolio demonstrating web projects and the ability to create compelling web experiences; personal branding is preferred.
  • Familiarity with software and system design patterns, APIs, cloud infrastructure tools, storage solutions, and data structures.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with design libraries such as Shadcn, Framer Motion, or D3.
  • Experience building media or creative products for enterprise customers.
