Design Engineer
Design and build end-to-end learner-facing front-end experiences while shaping the product’s design language and component system. The role requires strong product design and front-end engineering skills, including TypeScript, React, CSS, animation, accessibility, and performance.

Responsibilities
- Design and build production-quality front-end experiences for learning, practice, feedback, and progress tracking
- Create and implement the product design language, including typography, layout, color, motion, and component systems
- Sketch and iterate directly in code, shipping production work quickly and refining it based on learner and team feedback
- Establish front-end quality standards for performance, accessibility, responsiveness, and interaction details
- Observe learner sessions, run pilots, and apply findings to product iterations
- Collaborate daily with the founding team on the learning experience
Requirements
- Experience using AI-assisted design and coding tools and building automations
- Portfolio of shipped products designed and built independently, with the ability to explain design and implementation decisions
- Strong product design skills in typography, layout, color, motion, and interaction design
- Strong front-end engineering skills with TypeScript, React or similar frameworks, systems-level CSS, animation, accessibility, and performance
- Experience owning front-end systems end to end in production
- Consumer product sensibility and strong attention to interaction details
Nice-to-haves
- Early-stage startup experience
- Understanding of brand, visual identity, tone, and product design language across websites, products, and marketing
- Experience building or maintaining design systems
- Experience designing conversational or voice interfaces
- Motion or generative work involving real-time graphics, video, or generated visuals
- Marketing experience designing and building landing pages, campaigns, or brand assets
