Solutions Architect - Retail/CPG
This pre-sales Solutions Architect guides enterprise Retail/CPG customers through evaluating and adopting a data and AI platform. The role designs cloud and big-data architectures, builds demonstrations and integrations, and partners with sales through technical workshops and customer engagements.

Responsibilities
- Guide the technical evaluation phase in a hands-on environment throughout the sales process.
- Advise the sales team technically and advocate for Retail/CPG customers with the product team.
- Help customers achieve data-driven outcomes using the Databricks Lakehouse Platform.
- Help data teams complete projects and integrate the platform into their enterprise ecosystems.
- Solve customer challenges involving big data, analytics, data engineering, and data science.
- Serve as an expert in big data analytics architecture and design.
- Lead prospects through evaluating and adopting Databricks.
- Author reference architectures, how-to guides, and demo applications.
- Integrate Databricks with third-party applications to support customer architectures.
- Lead workshops, seminars, and meetups for the technical community.
- Build successful client relationships with the Account Executive by providing technical and business value.
Requirements
- Pre-sales or post-sales experience working with external clients across multiple industries.
- Customer-facing pre-sales or consulting experience, preferably with a core strength in data engineering or data science.
- Experience demonstrating technical concepts through presentations and whiteboarding.
- Experience designing and implementing architectures in public clouds such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Experience with big data technologies, including Apache Spark, AI, data science, data engineering, Hadoop, and Cassandra.
- Fluent coding experience in Python or Scala with Apache Spark.
- Experience with Java and R is desirable.
- Experience working with enterprise accounts.
- Written and verbal fluency in Japanese and English.
