Responsibilities
- Design, build, and scale high-performance, fault-tolerant microservices processing travel and expense transactions globally.
- Lead complex, cross-functional engineering projects from conception through deployment, making architectural trade-offs and setting technical standards.
- Build robust APIs, asynchronous event-driven architectures, and scalable data pipelines focused on low latency, high availability, and operational excellence.
- Partner with product management, engineering leadership, data, and platform teams to translate ambiguous requirements into enterprise-grade technical solutions.
- Champion maintainable code, thoughtful abstractions, rigorous testing, and operational ownership.
- Mentor engineers and lead architecture reviews.
Requirements
- 6+ years of software engineering experience building and operating highly scalable, distributed production systems at enterprise or global scale.
- Deep expertise in backend engineering stacks such as Java, TypeScript/Node.js, Python, or Go.
- Strong engineering fundamentals and experience designing microservices, complex APIs, event-driven workflows, caching strategies, and distributed databases.
- Experience driving technical vision and leading architecture for large, multi-team projects through production rollout.
- Strong systems observability and production debugging skills, with a focus on reliability of critical services.
- Product mindset with the ability to balance delivery and long-term technical health.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience with travel platforms, fintech, payment processing, or complex financial ledgers.
