Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, deploy, and iterate on production-quality agentic systems that plan, execute, and iterate toward outcomes.
- Develop Java solutions for efficiency and automation problems with measurable business impact.
- Apply AI-assisted development tools, code generation, prompt engineering, and agentic frameworks in daily development.
- Build AI-native systems with attention to state management, observability, non-determinism, inference cost, and adaptive-system testing.
- Create clean, testable, and maintainable shared foundations.
- Participate in code reviews, design reviews, architecture discussions, and the full software delivery lifecycle.
- Perform root cause analysis and troubleshoot application, system, and user-input issues.
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience focused on Java development; strong internships or personal projects may be considered.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience; a master’s degree is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, system design, object-oriented design, and production systems.
- Strong Java and Spring or Spring Boot experience.
- Experience designing and implementing scalable, resilient Java architectures and modern design patterns.
- Recent experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs.
- Strong knowledge of relational databases, including MySQL, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL.
- Strong knowledge of NoSQL databases, including DynamoDB or MongoDB.
- Understanding of APIs, cloud concepts, and modern software delivery practices.
- Demonstrated fluency with AI-assisted development tools.
- Ability to solve ambiguous problems, learn independently, incorporate feedback, and connect technical work to business context.
Nice-to-haves
- Hands-on experience with agentic frameworks, LLM APIs, or workflow orchestration tools.
- Experience with AWS or equivalent cloud environments.
- Financial services, mathematics, or quantitative background.
- Experience with application performance monitoring tools such as Dynatrace or Splunk.
- Personal projects, open-source contributions, or other work demonstrating AI or systems-engineering learning.
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual base salary: $112,000–$145,000 USD.
- Comprehensive total rewards package, including company-paid medical premiums of 90%, competitive time off, and other variable compensation when eligible.
