Responsibilities
- Build and scale payment infrastructure supporting marketplace payouts at high volume.
- Automate payout orchestration and eliminate manual treasury and payout workflows.
- Design immutable, auditable ledger systems and settlement ingestion and reconciliation pipelines.
- Improve observability across payout, processor, bank, and reconciliation flows.
- Instrument and monitor financial primitives, including ledgers, payout orchestration, and settlement ingestion.
- Identify and fix recurring payment issues at their root cause.
- Abstract payment processor dependencies and improve system resilience.
- Operate production systems under significant load with a focus on reliability and correctness.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience building scalable backend systems.
- 3+ years of backend or platform engineering experience, including ownership of production systems.
- Experience in payments, fintech, billing, or financial infrastructure preferred.
- Experience integrating with third-party payment gateways such as Stripe or Adyen and/or direct banking APIs.
- Understanding of financial regulations, including PCI-DSS.
- Experience securely handling and encrypting sensitive banking and customer data.
- 3+ years of professional experience with transactional databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.
- Experience with compiled languages such as Go, Rust, or C++.
- Experience with message queues or streaming platforms such as RabbitMQ, SQS, or Kafka.
- Experience with distributed systems frameworks and infrastructure such as Temporal and Kubernetes.
- Strong operational mindset, system-level thinking, observability practices, and reliability focus.
- Ability to work effectively in high-intensity, fast-growing, ambiguous environments.
