Responsibilities
- Design, build, and deliver core components of the C++ stream processing execution engine.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to shape architecture, development practices, and escalation policies.
- Mentor fellow engineers and own project delivery and accountability.
- Identify problems, implement solutions, and deliver complex distributed-systems or database projects.
- Write, test, debug, performance-tune, and maintain distributed and highly concurrent software in large, long-lived codebases.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building database services, distributed systems, and/or foundational cloud services at scale.
- Strong background in database internals or core data-processing components, including query execution, storage engines, autotuning, or workload optimization.
- Proven ability to design, write, test, debug, and performance-tune software.
- Strong computer science fundamentals and technical communication skills.
- Experience maintaining distributed and/or highly concurrent software systems.
- Demonstrated collaboration, mentoring, ownership, and accountability.
Nice-to-haves
- Hands-on modern C++ experience in performance-sensitive systems.
- Experience with stream processing or query engines.
- Exposure to Flink, Spark, Beam, Kafka Streams, or database query engines.
Compensation
- Base salary: $95,000–$187,000 USD.
