Senior Technical Business Development, EU Automotive
Strategic technical business development role supporting European automotive customers from Sunnyvale. The role combines customer discovery, workshops, solution proposals, revenue planning, and cross-functional execution, requiring automotive software experience, C++/Python expertise, and familiarity with European OEMs.

Responsibilities
- Support business development for the automotive domain as the Sunnyvale HQ counterpart to the EU Automotive Lead.
- Represent the European automotive business internally and deputize for the EU Automotive Lead in planning, resourcing, and escalation discussions.
- Partner cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Sales, and Marketing.
- Engage potential customers and conduct discovery sessions to understand requirements and potential solutions.
- Host customer workshops and organize tailored demonstrations.
- Develop customer solutions with Product and Engineering for existing products or support creation of new products.
- Iterate with customers on technical scope and business models, and guide proposals through customer approvals.
- Plan revenue strategy and outlook for automotive and adjacent-domain solutions.
- Represent European accounts and active deals to Product and Engineering in Sunnyvale and manage time-zone handoffs for European engagements.
- Own deal qualification using MEDDPICC or an equivalent framework and drive solution proposals end to end.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in automotive software, including ADAS/AD, software-defined vehicles, simulation, or validation, in technical business development, pre-sales, or solutions engineering.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Experience working across stakeholders to execute complex projects.
- Strong customer-engagement and business-development capabilities.
- Strong software engineering foundation in C++ and Python.
- Working knowledge of software-defined vehicle workflows, SIL/HIL toolchains, or AUTOSAR-adjacent stacks.
- Experience working with or selling to European OEMs and familiarity with European engineering and procurement culture.
- Willingness to maintain regular European time-zone overlap and travel to Europe approximately 25% of the time.
- US work authorization.
- Based in or willing to relocate to the Bay Area.
Nice to Have
- Experience working on a startup product from Series A through IPO.
- German language skills.
- Experience inside a European OEM or Tier-1 software organization.
Compensation
- Base salary: $150,000–$200,000 annually.
- Eligible compensation may also include equity and benefits such as health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, 401(k) matching, learning and wellness stipends, and paid time off.
