Senior Fullstack Software Engineer, Authoring Experience

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture and rollout strategy for critical platform services, from initial design through large-scale rollout and migration.
• Set technical standards for designing, publishing, and maintaining customer-facing APIs, including security, reliability, and developer experience.
• Integrate services across the platform for customer-facing use cases, designing clear service boundaries and partnering with data-platform teams on access patterns.
• Drive RFCs and decision records to make architectural decisions durable and shared.
• Mentor engineers, expand review capacity, and partner with the engineering manager on team health and culture.
• Build backend systems with TypeScript and Node.js, contribute to customer-facing React experiences, and use AI tools to improve development workflows.

Requirements

• 8+ years of backend development experience building reliable, scalable, fault-tolerant systems.
• Experience designing and shipping external or public product APIs, including contracts, versioning, authentication, and developer experience.
• Strong system design skills, including service boundaries and data-layer collaboration.
• Comfort working in a React frontend codebase and building products end to end.
• Track record delivering complex, ambiguous, multi-quarter initiatives directly and through others.
• Experience safely rolling out or deprecating major systems at scale.
• Strong written design communication and demonstrated mentorship.
• Authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
• Must reside in and work exclusively from within the United States.

Compensation and Benefits

• Base salary: $224,000–$263,000 annually.
