Senior Software Engineer, Vanta for Government

Responsibilities

• Lead complex, cross-functional engineering projects for the government product line.
• Design systems, patterns, and architecture that adapt the compliance platform for federal agencies, government vendors, and State, Local, and Education organizations.
• Design and build new compliance workflow capabilities in collaboration with early design partners.
• Partner with engineering teams on shared infrastructure and tagging systems supporting government-specific compliance workflows.
• Translate ambiguous early-stage requirements into durable, scalable solutions.
• Contribute to the engineering culture as the organization grows.

Requirements

• 5+ years of industry experience.
• Strong systems thinking and platform architecture skills, including designing for reuse, scalability, and maintainability.
• Experience in highly regulated industries such as fintech or healthcare.
• Ability to work effectively in early-stage, 0-to-1 environments with evolving requirements.
• Strong product mindset with the ability to balance technical rigor, delivery velocity, and deadlines.
• Authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

Nice-to-haves

• FedRAMP or government domain experience.
• Curiosity and sound judgment in using AI responsibly to improve efficiency and impact.

Compensation and Benefits

• Base salary of $224,000–$263,000, plus equity.
