Sr Application Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Build AI Agents using Agentforce and other AI platforms like Microsoft Studio for CoPilot Agents.
• Pioneer intelligent process automations using IPA tools like Power Automate and Alteryx.
• Build test automations to improve QA efficiencies for Salesforce and other applications.
• Collaborate with product designers, end-users, and team members to refine AI use cases and brainstorm prototyping ideas.
• Execute application development tasks using Apex, JavaScript, Python and other languages for core applications (Salesforce, Billing Platform) and integrated apps (Conga, DocuSign, Adobe, Marketo, Gainsight, Gong, Qualtrics, Kantata, TaskRay).
• Perform unit tests and collaborate on test scripts for automated and manual testing.
• Analyze, troubleshoot, and debug standard to complex system issues.
• Act as an AI change agent to drive team adoption of AI agents for efficiency gains.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for builds and AI Agents.
• Onboard, mentor, coach junior-intermediate engineers, peer review work, approve pull requests.
• Participate in DevOps maintenance, provide training and consultation to business partners.
• Support transformational projects, high-priority enhancements, and resolve incidents.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience building Agentforce AI Agents, AI workflows, custom agent development, and integration of external data sources.
• Solid experience with Salesforce integrations and external system integrations (Conga, DocuSign, Adobe, Marketo, Gainsight, Gong, Qualtrics, Kantata, TaskRay).
• Experience creating intelligent process automations using tools like Power Automate.
• Solid experience creating test automations for Salesforce and other platforms.
• Solid experience writing clean, scalable code using JavaScript, Apex, Python, etc.
• Proficient in DevOps processes and tools (e.g., Copado, AutoRabit), GitHub, and troubleshooting versioning issues.
• Proficient in Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
• Solid experience with automated testing frameworks (e.g., PMD, Selenium, Copado CRT).
• In-depth understanding of Salesforce data models, security, and governor limits.
• Excellent organization, critical-thinking, and self-management skills.
• Continuous learner with a mindset for acquiring and sharing knowledge.
• Strong team player and coach who partners with cross-functional teams (BA, QA, Operations).
• Effective communicator who can convey complex ideas and persuade others.
• Proven experience as an Intermediate Application Engineer or higher.
• Certifications: Salesforce Certified Agentforce Specialist, Salesforce Certified Platform Developer I & II (required), Salesforce Advanced Administrator (required), Salesforce Certified Application/Systems Architect (desired).
• BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience).

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience building AI Agents on other AI platforms.
• Experience with Product Operating Model.
• Experience working on a SaaS product.
• Experience with Salesforce Lightning Design System (SLDS) or UI frameworks like React, Vue.js, or Angular.
• Understanding of Salesforce Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Revenue Cloud, Agentforce, and Salesforce Einstein.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or other cloud platforms.
• Experience with Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) and SaaS product development.
• Knowledge of SAML, OAuth, and OpenID Connect.
• Experience with on-call responsibilities for production systems.
• Understanding of team dysfunctions and how to address them (trust, conflict, commitment, accountability, results).
