Senior Software Engineer II , Marketplace
Build marketplace search and ranking features while supporting MLOps infrastructure, model deployment, feature stores, and real-time data pipelines. Responsibilities
- Build and maintain full-stack features across marketplace products, including search, ranking, and renter-facing UIs.
- Support and extend MLOps infrastructure, including model deployment pipelines, feature stores, real-time data pipelines, and monitoring using Chalk and Vertex AI.
- Collaborate with data scientists to bring models into production reliably and at scale.
- Write clean, well-tested code and participate in code reviews.
- Contribute to technical planning and break complex problems into executable work.
- Identify and address performance, reliability, and scalability issues.
- Communicate progress clearly and surface blockers early.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software engineering or MLOps experience, with meaningful backend or full-stack development experience.
- Proficiency in at least one backend language, including Ruby, JavaScript, Go, or Python.
- Exposure to machine learning concepts and interest in software engineering and machine learning.
- Hands-on experience with MLOps tooling such as Vertex AI, MLflow, Kubeflow, or similar.
- Hands-on experience with feature stores such as Chalk or similar.
- Proficiency managing data with SQL and programming languages, with exposure to feature pipelines and A/B testing frameworks.
- Experience using AI tools to improve workflows and reduce feedback loops.
- Experience in cloud environments; GCP preferred, with AWS or Azure also considered.
- Excellent communication, debugging, ownership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Compensation and Benefits
- US total target compensation ranges from $145,000 to $207,000, depending on zone, including base salary and equity.
- Zone 1: $171,000–$207,000 total target compensation, including $154,000–$182,000 base salary, plus equity.
- Zone 2: $158,000–$191,000 total target compensation, including $142,000–$168,000 base salary, plus equity.
- Zone 3: $145,000–$176,000 total target compensation, including $130,000–$155,000 base salary, plus equity.
