Senior Solutions Architect
The Senior Solutions Architect partners with sales and customers to design scalable MongoDB-based systems, lead technical discovery and proofs of value, and communicate business value. The role requires substantial customer-facing pre-sales experience, distributed-systems expertise, programming ability, and strong presentation skills.

Responsibilities
- Design scalable and performant applications, systems, and infrastructure for large software projects leveraging MongoDB.
- Guide customers on architecture patterns and optimization strategies for MongoDB while communicating business value to relevant stakeholders.
- Collaborate with sales teams on account planning, opportunity prioritization and qualification, pipeline generation, technical discovery, demos, proofs of value, presentations, sizing, and documentation.
- Generate demand through technical initiatives, industry trade shows, and account-based marketing events.
- Foster customer relationships, build champions, and ensure customer success and satisfaction.
- Improve MongoDB solutions and processes by relaying field feedback to the product team.
- Mentor other Solutions Consulting team members.
- Complete ongoing product and industry training.
- Travel up to 25%.
Requirements
- 8–11 years of related experience in a customer-facing role.
- At least 3 years of pre-sales experience with enterprise software.
- At least 3 years of professional experience with modern scripting or programming languages such as Python, Node.js, SQL, C/C++, Java, or C#.
- Experience designing scalable, highly available distributed systems in cloud and on-premises environments.
- Experience reviewing complex application architectures and advising customers on improvements.
- Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to strategize with sales teams and develop multi-threaded account plans.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience selling databases or deploying applications with major cloud providers.
- Database programming and data-modeling experience.
- Experience with data engineering or AI/ML projects.
- Experience modernizing legacy systems and platforms.
- Familiarity with MEDDPICC or Command of the Message.
- MongoDB certification.
- Cloud-provider certification.
Professional development
- Develop expertise in MongoDB Database Server, Atlas, Atlas Stream Processing, Atlas Data Lake, Atlas Full-Text Search, Atlas Vector Search, Charts, and Relational Migrator.
- Gain experience with hyperscaler cloud services, Apache Kafka, Kubernetes, microservices, DevOps, cloud security, RAG, and generative AI architectures.
- Strengthen presentation, demonstration, whiteboarding, discovery, and objection-handling skills.
