Commercial Account Executive
Own the full sales cycle for developer-first commercial accounts while acting as a technically credible advisor on data architecture, integrations, and ClickHouse evaluations. The role requires a strong technical foundation, customer-facing experience, and comfort with modern data infrastructure.

Responsibilities
- Own the full sales cycle from inbound lead through close for commercial accounts with fewer than 250 employees.
- Engage data engineers, platform architects, and technical founders to understand use cases, data volumes, query patterns, and infrastructure requirements, and map them to ClickHouse capabilities.
- Troubleshoot schema design, ingestion patterns, and integration challenges during evaluations.
- Identify expansion opportunities within self-serve and product-led accounts and convert usage signals into commercial relationships.
- Partner with Solutions Engineers on complex evaluations and advocate for customer needs with Product and Engineering.
- Maintain accurate Salesforce pipeline records, including technical context, decision criteria, stakeholders, and next steps.
- Contribute to playbooks, technical objection-handling guides, and onboarding materials.
- Participate in developer community events, technical meetups, and online forums.
Requirements
- Technical foundation gained through experience as a data engineer, solutions engineer or architect, software engineer, or similar role.
- Familiarity with columnar databases, streaming ingestion, cloud infrastructure, and SQL-heavy analytics workflows.
- Customer-facing experience in pre-sales, technical account management, solutions engineering, or customer success.
- Ability to drive urgency, remove technical blockers, and operate effectively in short sales cycles.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Curiosity about the business side of technology and why companies buy.
- Ownership mentality, autonomy, and sound judgment.
Nice-to-haves
- Hands-on experience with ClickHouse, DuckDB, Druid, Pinot, BigQuery, or Snowflake.
- Experience with Kafka or Kinesis.
- Prior closing experience is helpful but not required.
