Head of Talent
Build and lead the talent organization for a fast-growing AI company scaling from 80 to 250 people this year. Personally source/close exceptional senior talent in ML research, engineering, sales and more while building recruiting systems, coaching managers, shaping employer brand and using the company's voice AI product daily.

Responsibilities
- Personally source, pitch, and close senior candidates including researchers from frontier labs, former founders, and staff engineers with competing offers.
- Build the talent organization from first principles, pairing a small senior team with real AI leverage.
- Hire and lead an exceptional recruiting team, holding hires to the highest bar.
- Instrument the hiring pipeline with metrics such as pass-through rates, source effectiveness, time to offer, and offer acceptance rates; identify bottlenecks proactively.
- Coach hiring managers to excel as interviewers and closers; provide candid feedback to managers and founders when candidates do not meet exceptional standards.
- Design an outstanding candidate experience where candidates feel deeply understood; even rejected candidates should speak positively about the process.
- Partner with the executive team on employer branding to position Wispr as the premier place for impactful work.
- Create creative, competitive offers and navigate complex negotiations involving equity, competing offers, and non-standard structures.
- Act as a power user of the Flow product, providing feedback that shapes the roadmap.
Requirements
- Proven ability to distinguish strong hires from exceptional ones in short conversations.
- Candidates and recruiters trust you; you are perceptive about true motivations and maintain strong relationships even with non-closed candidates.
- Empathetic selling skills with credibility pitching to frontier researchers and early sales hires alike.
- Track record of improbable closes through creativity.
- Ability to attract and lead top recruiters who would follow you.
- Systems and data-oriented thinking; experience scaling hiring through hypergrowth from 100 to 1000+ employees.
- Comfort delivering hard truths to hiring managers and founders about their processes.
- View employer brand as a compounding asset and desire involvement in shaping it.
- Genuine enthusiasm as a power user of Wispr Flow product.
