Engineering Manager, Core Platform
As an Engineering Manager, Core Platform, you will lead and grow high-performing platform engineering teams, owning the foundational infrastructure that every engineer builds on. You will set technical direction, drive multi-quarter platform initiatives, and partner with engineering leadership to deliver scalable platform solutions.
About the job
What you’ll do as an Engineering Manager at Vanta:
- Lead and grow high-performing platform engineering teams that deliver reliable, scalable infrastructure and operational excellence for Vanta’s products and customers
- Set technical direction and drive multi-quarter platform initiatives spanning infrastructure reliability, security, scalability, and developer experience across shared systems and services
- Partner closely with product engineering, security, and engineering leadership to identify organizational needs. Translate ambiguous infrastructure challenges into clear roadmap priorities, and deliver scalable platform solutions
- Design and evolve internal platforms, paved roads, and abstractions that enable product teams to ship independently, securely, and efficiently without deep infrastructure expertise
- Guide the evolution of Vanta’s cloud and data infrastructure, including AWS services (ECS, Fargate), MongoDB performance and optimization, and event-driven architecture
- Establish strong engineering culture, operational standards, and ownership practices that empower teams across Vanta to build and operate healthy systems responsibly
How to be successful in this role:
- 5+ years managing platform or infrastructure teams at high-growth tech companies
- Prior experience managing multiple teams or multiple charters
- Strong decision maker who effectively balances ambiguity, available data, speed, and quality
- Track record of maintaining and scaling shared infrastructure in measurable, concrete ways
- Have participated in developing or driving engineering-wide initiatives (recruiting processes, career frameworks, etc) in a prior role
- Have prior experience managing complex, long-term projects that touch multiple teams and cross-functional stakeholders
- Effective communicator and story-teller. Able to influence cross functional stakeholders and adjacent teams, and comfortable driving technical direction across teams without relying on direct authority
- Open to using AI to amplify their skills and strengthen their work - demonstrating curiosity, a willingness to learn, and sound judgment in applying AI responsibly to improve efficiency and impact.
What you can expect as a Vanta’n:
- Industry-competitive salary and equity
- Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, with 100% of employee-only benefit premiums covered for most medical plans
- 16 weeks Parental Leave for all new parents

- Virtual team building activities, lunch and learns, and other company-wide events!
- Offices in SF, NYC, London, Dublin, Tel Aviv, and Sydney
