Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable systems, shared libraries, APIs, and platform components used by multiple engineering teams.
- Partner with product engineering teams to understand needs and translate them into clean, well-documented APIs and services.
- Drive technical decisions and influence architecture across team boundaries, emphasizing developer experience and platform scalability.
- Define and uphold engineering standards for shared components, including consistency, performance, and security.
- Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and technical planning.
- Document systems and libraries so engineers across the organization can use and contribute to them.
- Contribute to Vanta’s engineering culture as the company scales.
Requirements
- Industry experience in backend or full-stack software engineering, focused on platform, shared infrastructure, or developer-facing systems.
- Experience building shared APIs, services, or platform components used by multiple engineering teams.
- Familiarity with distributed systems, event-driven architecture, or message queue systems.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to articulate technical trade-offs to engineering, product, and design stakeholders.
- Track record of shipping high-quality, maintainable code and making sound architectural decisions.
- Curiosity and willingness to use AI responsibly to improve efficiency and impact.
