Responsibilities
- Collaborate with architects, QA, product, documentation, and UX teams to design and implement features for workforce and customer identity authentication experiences.
- Propose and align on technical strategy and short- and long-term roadmaps.
- Produce technical designs, proposals, and architectural decisions.
- Develop high-quality, maintainable software components with comprehensive unit and functional tests.
- Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and security best practices.
- Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing.
- Lead, mentor, and coach junior engineers.
Requirements
- 12+ years of hands-on experience designing and developing enterprise software using Java with Spring Boot.
- Deep proficiency in object-oriented programming, design patterns, server-side technologies, distributed systems, caching, asynchronous processing, multithreading, and performance optimization.
- Expert understanding of secure coding practices, authentication and authorization protocols, including FIDO2/WebAuthn, SSO, OAuth, OIDC, and SAML.
- Experience designing and building scalable distributed systems and RESTful APIs.
- Skilled in debugging and troubleshooting complex Java codebases.
- Strong focus on clean, maintainable, scalable, and secure code.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure platforms, particularly AWS and Google Cloud, and databases.
- Experience with Agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including experience working with cross-functional and geographically distributed teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- At least 8 years of experience designing and building enterprise-grade software using Java at scale.
Nice to have
- Experience with phishing-resistant authentication, such as Passkeys, Smart Cards, or Okta FastPass.
- Basic UI development experience.
