Integration Software Engineering Manager

Leads a hands-on team building and maintaining third-party security and enterprise integrations. The manager coaches engineers, guides technical decisions and delivery, and contributes to backend systems, APIs, and production troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

Lead and Develop the Team

  • Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, feedback, and support to a team of software engineers.
  • Set clear expectations and support performance, growth, and career development.
  • Recruit, interview, hire, and onboard new team members.
  • Build a collaborative and accountable culture across a distributed organization.

Stay Hands-On

  • Participate in design discussions, code reviews, troubleshooting, and technical decision-making.
  • Help engineers break down complex problems and select practical, maintainable solutions.
  • Contribute directly during complex integrations, production issues, and critical delivery periods.
  • Promote sound practices in code quality, testing, documentation, security, and operational readiness.

Guide Delivery and Collaboration

  • Work with Product Management and partner teams to clarify priorities, scope work, and establish realistic plans.
  • Balance new integration development with maintenance, customer needs, and technical debt.
  • Identify risks and dependencies, remove blockers, and keep stakeholders informed.
  • Partner with Architecture, Quality Engineering, DevOps, Customer Success, and Support.
  • Improve team processes without unnecessary complexity.

Use AI Practically

  • Encourage thoughtful use of AI-assisted development, testing, documentation, and code-review tools.
  • Automate repetitive work where it meaningfully improves speed or quality.
  • Apply human review to AI-generated output for security, reliability, and maintainability.

Requirements

  • Experience managing or formally leading software engineers in a first-line leadership capacity.
  • Hands-on leadership style with continued technical engagement.
  • Solid backend software-engineering experience in Python, Go, Java, or a comparable language.
  • Experience building, integrating, or operating production software and APIs.
  • Practical understanding of microservices, distributed applications, or cloud-based systems.
  • Ability to translate product or customer needs into clear engineering work.
  • Strong communication, prioritization, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Track record of coaching engineers and delivering reliable software.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience with cybersecurity products or domains such as SIEM, SOAR, EDR, NDR, XDR, or security automation.
  • Knowledge of REST, GraphQL, webhooks, streaming APIs, OAuth, or rate limiting.
  • Experience with message queues, event-driven systems, or workflow orchestration.
  • Familiarity with AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, containers, or Kubernetes.
  • Experience with large-scale data processing, observability, incident management, or site-reliability practices.
  • Experience with AI-assisted engineering tools, LLM APIs, function calling, MCP, or agent-based workflows.
  • Experience working with globally distributed engineering teams.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Base compensation: USD 200,000–275,000 per year.
  • Total compensation includes bonus opportunity and equity and varies based on candidate location.
