Responsibilities
- Own strategic procurement for network hardware, including routers, switches, interconnects, and silicon commodities.
- Develop total cost of ownership targets and lead complex, multi-party vendor negotiations to achieve supply goals.
- Oversee delivery terms for network maintenance and support contracts, including annual contract management and current asset inventory lists.
- Establish vendor evaluation processes such as RFX and QBRs, partnering with hardware engineering on emerging technologies.
- Coordinate global data center infrastructure installations by aligning manufacturer supply with worldwide deployment schedules.
- Guide infrastructure processes and remote contractors supporting physical deployment.
- Identify automation opportunities and help standardize physical deployment processes across data center regions.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience working with networking equipment OEMs.
- Direct experience executing complex data center infrastructure projects in a rapidly changing environment.
- Deep understanding of the commercial benefits of hardware technologies and practical knowledge of physical data center networking.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain complex information to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Engineering or strongly analytical background supporting detailed TCO modeling.
- Basic experience using AI tools, including generative AI, large language models, or AI-driven data analytics.
Nice-to-haves
- Master’s degree in business, supply chain, or engineering.
- Experience sourcing AI/ML hardware such as GPUs and high-throughput interconnects.
- Experience managing programs across multiple large cross-functional teams with tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with Data Center Infrastructure Management tools.
- Familiarity with program management software such as JIRA.
Compensation and Benefits
- Portugal-based hires: estimated annual salary of €41,000–€56,000.
