Property Technician

Responsibilities

• Support property management and warehouse operations for NLM.
• Maintain NIH warehouse safety standards.
• Train and coach staff on inventory management, supply delivery, and related applications.
• Track staff training and development.
• Perform cycle counts, investigate supply variances, and resolve discrepancies.
• Conduct physical inventories and maintain supply inventory; identify items for ordering.
• Operate the OAMAS Supply system.
• Inspect Buildings 38 and 38A and register maintenance tickets with the Office of Research Facilities.
• Stock, pull, open, decal, and deliver supplies and equipment to program areas.
• Lift and deliver boxes weighing up to 50 pounds using a motorized cart.
• Set up and take down tables and chairs for special events.
• Discard or shred materials as required.
• Receive and distribute inside mail twice daily and outside mail as needed.
• Provide transportation services in accordance with state laws and NIH policies.
• Operate government-owned vehicles safely.
• Enter property transactions into the Property Management Information System (PMIS) and maintain supporting documentation.
• Research missing items, misclassified documents, and inappropriate database entries and take corrective action.
• Prepare periodic reports covering procurement, acquisition, utilization, value, and disposition of government property.
• Advise and train staff on government property policies and responsibilities.
• Review lost-and-found property and provide reports to the property manager.

Requirements

• Associate degree in business or an equivalent field such as public administration or accounting.
• 5–7 years of experience in a related field.
• Experience recording information and entering data.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
