Lead a team of 8-9 engineers building Datadog's serverless APM experience, including auto-instrumentation, distributed tracing for cloud-managed services across AWS, Azure, and GCP, and OpenTelemetry support. What You’ll Do
- Lead a polyglot team of 8-9 engineers and partner closely with Product and Engineering teams across Datadog to deliver industry-leading serverless capabilities that power consistent, scalable, and intuitive instrumentation across languages.
- Drive a domain that is technically rich: Lambda, Azure Functions, GCP, OTel billing, Rust, durable functions, distributed tracing across managed services. Engineers on this team work across languages, clouds, and deployment models.
- Partner with the product manager to shape the strategy and execution for our 3 main clouds - AWS, Azure and GCP, in addition to being at the cutting edge of new managed platforms and how we can bring distributed tracing to them.
Who You Are
- An experienced Engineering Manager with a track record of shipping products.
- Highly collaborative.
- Experienced in two or more languages and comfortable building cross-runtime systems.
- Have a passion for libraries and OSS software development.
- Care about developer experience, clean APIs, and reliable systems.
- An ability to pivot from high level product narratives to highly technical implementation details (and articulate how one impacts the other).
- Comfortable with partner and stakeholder management.
