Senior Software Engineer
Senior backend engineer responsible for designing and delivering scalable distributed systems in Golang, with ownership of reliability, performance, security, testing, and production support. The role requires 5–8 years of software engineering experience and is based in London with hybrid office attendance.

Responsibilities
- Architect, develop, test, and debug scalable backend services for distributed systems.
- Lead non-functional requirements including scalability, availability, performance, and security.
- Design, author, and maintain unit, integration, and functional tests.
- Create and maintain technical documentation.
- Break down complex projects into actionable tasks and drive them to completion.
- Mentor team members through code reviews, technical guidance, and best-practice sharing.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to deliver features.
- Improve engineering processes, tools, and practices in an agile environment.
Requirements
- 5–8 years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong proficiency in Golang.
- Solid programming fundamentals, problem-solving, and system design expertise.
- Deep understanding of concurrency, multithreading, and distributed computing.
- Experience with microservice architectures and RESTful APIs.
- Strong analytical and reasoning skills, including the ability to simplify complex systems.
- Permanent right to work in the UK; visa sponsorship is not provided.
- Based in London or within a commutable distance, with the ability to attend the office as needed.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with high-throughput, low-latency systems.
- Familiarity with AWS or GCP.
- Experience with NoSQL databases, big data analytics, or machine learning services.
