Build and scale backend services for a global corporate expense and payments platform, owning features from design through production support. The role requires strong Java and Spring Boot expertise, distributed-systems experience, cloud knowledge, and 4–6 years of engineering experience.

Responsibilities
- Design and develop robust, high-performance backend features and core services supporting a global customer base.
- Scale systems powering commerce, payments, issuing platforms, and payment and money ledgers.
- Build infrastructure for automated policy management, granular administrative controls, and accounting-system integrations.
- Address large-scale engineering challenges involving reliability, performance, and user experience.
- Own features end to end, from design and development through deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting, and operational support.
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, designers, and business leaders in a global, cross-functional environment.
- Promote best practices in code quality, scalability, documentation, monitoring, and testing.
- Stay current with technologies and industry trends and apply AI-driven development to improve engineering productivity.
Requirements
- 4–6 years of experience building and scaling complex systems; exceptional candidates with less experience may be considered.
- Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot, with understanding of JVM performance and optimization.
- Experience leveraging AI models and AI-driven development for intelligent, automated features and engineering productivity.
- Experience with distributed systems, microservices, and API design.
- Practical experience with AWS or other cloud platforms.
- Experience developing and maintaining consumer-facing or core business products at scale.
- Record of delivering production-quality, maintainable code and supporting released features through monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Nice-to-haves
- Fintech or payment-processing experience.
- Experience with expenses, payments, ERP, tax, or other financial or workflow-heavy domains.
