Responsibilities
- Design and build high-quality, scalable systems and shared libraries used by multiple engineering teams.
- Build shared customer-facing platform components or internal abstractions and foundations.
- Partner with product engineering teams to understand their needs and translate them into clean, well-documented APIs and services.
- Drive technical decisions and influence architecture across team boundaries, focusing on developer experience and platform scalability.
- Define and uphold engineering standards for shared components, including consistency, performance, and security.
- Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and technical planning.
- Write and maintain thorough documentation for systems and libraries.
- Contribute to Vanta's engineering culture as the company scales.
Requirements
- 5+ years of backend or full-stack software engineering experience, focused on platform, shared infrastructure, or developer-facing systems.
- Experience building shared APIs, services, or platform components used by multiple engineering teams.
- Familiarity with distributed systems, event-driven architecture, or message queue systems.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to articulate technical trade-offs across engineering, product, and design.
- Track record of shipping high-quality, maintainable code and making sound architectural decisions.
- Curiosity and sound judgment when applying AI responsibly to improve efficiency and impact.

- Base salary range of $195,000–$229,000, plus equity.
