Responsibilities
- Lead a team of backend engineers building scalable, reliable systems that power the platform.
- Balance people leadership, technical direction, and execution while partnering with Product and other engineering teams.
- Develop and grow a high-performing team.
- Guide technical and architectural decisions and create clarity around complex initiatives.
- Build and operate high-volume production systems with a focus on reliability, performance, and maintainability.
- Lead complex initiatives from design through production.
- Hire, coach, provide feedback, manage performance, and develop engineers at different career stages.
- Create clarity and alignment across Engineering, Product, and other stakeholders.
- Use modern development practices and AI-powered engineering tools to improve team productivity and software quality.
Requirements
- 2+ years managing software engineers.
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong foundation in backend engineering, distributed systems, APIs, data modeling, and scalable application architecture.
- Strong cross-functional communication skills.
Technologies
- Java and Spring Boot microservices with Gradle.
- DynamoDB, PostgreSQL, and Redis.
- Kubernetes on AWS EKS.

Compensation & Benefits
- US base salary: $210,000–$240,000 annually, plus equity and benefits.
