Engineering Lead - Infrastructure and Reliability

About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and grow a team of infrastructure engineers, including hiring and cultivating talent.
  • Set technical direction and priorities for the team's roadmap in partnership with engineering leadership.
  • Plan, design, implement, and iterate on AWS infrastructure.
  • Maintain and improve cloud networking architecture.
  • Collaborate with business and engineering teams to support new customers and integrations.
  • Mentor and develop team members, provide regular feedback, and support career growth.
  • Review code and drive testing practices across the team.
  • Participate in the engineering on-call rotation.

Infrastructure Engineering Work

  • Scale and optimize ECS across multi-cluster environments.
  • Manage self-hosted CI/CD pipelines at scale.
  • Own tooling and workflows for ephemeral environments.
  • Develop the next version of the observability platform.
  • Build toward a self-service platform for the engineering organization.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of relevant industry experience in infrastructure, DevOps, or SRE roles, including experience leading or managing engineers.
  • Demonstrable skill designing large-scale system architectures.
  • Strong understanding of networking in an AWS environment.
  • Security-centric approach.
  • Strong scripting skills in Python and Bash, with a solid understanding of Linux.
  • Ability to diagnose technical problems, debug code, and automate routine tasks.
  • Analytical mindset with a strong sense of ownership.
  • Track record of building and developing high-performing technical teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related technical field involving coding, or equivalent technical experience.
  • Experience with AWS, Terraform, PostgreSQL, and Linux.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Expected annual base salary: $210,000–$237,000.
  • Compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and geographic location; ranges outside New York City may differ.
  • Equity option grant.
  • Eligibility for performance-based cash and equity bonuses.
  • Full benefits package.
