Engineering Manager, Onboarding
Leads the Growth Expansion engineering team, partnering with Product and Design to deliver revenue-driving product features and upgrade paths. The role requires 7+ years of software engineering experience, engineering people-management experience, strong communication, and technical decision-making skills.

Responsibilities
- Work with engineers, designers, and product managers to prioritize, schedule, and execute projects, rapidly developing and shipping new features.
- Partner with Product to define and execute the team’s long-term strategy and quarterly roadmap, including setting goals and measuring progress and success.
- Communicate and coordinate with teams inside and outside Engineering to understand requirements and opportunities for improvement.
- Mentor engineers and foster technical excellence, innovation, and continuous learning.
- Provide technical and non-technical guidance to direct reports.
- Attract, hire, develop, and retain a high-performing engineering team.
- Drive sound technical decision-making and lead technical conversations across Justworks.
- Build empathy for internal stakeholders to improve user experiences and make workflows easier and more efficient.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience as a software engineer working on production web applications.
- At least 1 year of experience managing a team of engineers.
- Demonstrable experience prioritizing, crafting, and achieving plans.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to grasp and explain complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
- High levels of empathy and interpersonal skills.
- Solid understanding of core web development technologies, including data structures, data stores, algorithms, distributed systems, and common framework patterns.

Compensation
- Base wage range: $212,000–$274,000 per year for the New York City office.
- Compensation varies based on factors including skill set, relevant experience, and work location.
- Benefits and other rewards are provided according to Justworks’ total rewards program.
