Senior Customer Engineer, Majors
Senior Customer Engineer responsible for leading enterprise technical validation, architecture, onboarding oversight, adoption, and expansion across Cloudflare’s platform. The role requires customer-facing technical experience, strong network and security architecture skills, executive communication, and commercial accountability.

Responsibilities
- Partner with Account Executives to lead technical discovery, capture business requirements, and map customer infrastructure—including DNS, CDN, Zero Trust, and network security—to Cloudflare architectures.
- Define scope, success criteria, and evaluation plans for proofs of concept and technical validations.
- Deliver tailored technical presentations, architectural diagrams, demonstrations, and responses to technical objections and security-compliance questions.
- Shape deployment strategies involving customers, partners, or professional services.
- Oversee technical onboarding and implementation without directly executing the implementation.
- Design migration and onboarding blueprints, including DNS migrations, Zero Trust rollouts, and WAF tuning guidance.
- Guide customer engineering teams through configuration best practices and serve as the primary technical contact throughout the customer lifecycle.
- Monitor customer health and telemetry, resolve integration bottlenecks, and reduce deployment risk.
- Carry a variable quota tied to new business and/or account growth; identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities.
- Lead technical QBRs and communicate platform value and return on investment to executives.
- Advise customers on architecture, AI control layers, security posture, and deployment confidence.
- Use AI agents, LLMs, and internal platforms to automate RFP and security-questionnaire responses, sandbox provisioning, telemetry monitoring, and documentation.
- Create and govern SOPs, architectural best practices, technical guides, and enablement resources.
Requirements
- Experience in a customer-facing technical role such as solutions engineering, customer engineering, professional services, sales engineering, technical account management, or forward-deployed engineering.
- Ability to whiteboard, design, and clearly articulate complex enterprise network and security architectures.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to translate technical concepts into business outcomes for engineers and C-level executives.
- Proven experience operating in a quota-carrying or commercially accountable role.
