Responsibilities
- Set technical direction for AI Products frontend architecture, including component systems, state management, and rendering strategies.
- Drive the frontend architecture of the AI SRE product from concept through production.
- Design and build agentic AI interfaces for multi-step reasoning, tool-use results, and real-time streaming responses.
- Develop the Observe Slack integration and define the technical strategy for future platform integrations.
- Contribute to CLI tooling and evaluation pipelines for agentic systems and model quality.
- Expand Model Context Protocol (MCP) integrations and extension architecture.
- Mentor engineers through code reviews, architecture guidance, design documents, and pair programming.
- Collaborate with product and design to shape the roadmap and user experience.
Requirements
- 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, including at least 6 years focused on frontend engineering.
- Expert TypeScript proficiency and experience structuring large TypeScript codebases.
- Extensive experience building complex, interactive web applications and owning complete product surfaces.
- Production experience with agentic AI systems, tool-use patterns, and SDKs such as Vercel AI SDK, Anthropic Agent SDK, or LangGraph.
- Strong server-side Node.js experience with Express, Hono, Fastify, or similar frameworks.
- Experience implementing or consuming MCP servers and designing extensible tool interfaces for LLM-powered systems.
- Demonstrated technical leadership, architecture ownership, RFC or design-document authorship, and cross-team influence.
- Product-focused mindset centered on user outcomes.
- BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience building production evaluation pipelines for LLM-powered features.
- Experience with Bun for CLI tooling or server applications.
- Experience building developer platforms, internal tools, or productivity infrastructure.
- Open-source contributions to AI tooling, observability, or developer experience projects.
- Familiarity with OpenTelemetry, logs, metrics, traces, APM, or Observe.
Compensation
- Annual salary: $236,000–$339,200 USD.
