Staff Frontend Engineer, Feature Management

Own the consistency, design-system adoption, shared interaction primitives, and performance of LaunchDarkly’s core feature-management interfaces across teams. The role requires 10+ years of engineering experience, deep TypeScript and React expertise, enterprise UI experience, and production experience with agent-driven workflows.

About the job

Responsibilities

  • Own the consistency and quality of core flag surfaces across teams, including shared interaction direction, cross-team review, and overall experience quality.
  • Set priorities from customer evidence, using support, sales, and usage signals across platform engineers, product managers, release managers, support engineers, and developers.
  • Own LaunchPad, the design system, including components, tokens, patterns, adoption, migration, lint enforcement, and measurable adoption baselines.
  • Track upstream library and platform capabilities and translate them into product improvements.
  • Build and migrate shared interaction primitives for tables, filtering, sorting, comparison, and bulk change.
  • Prototype and implement interaction patterns for human and agent workflows, including explaining, reviewing, and trusting agent-made changes.
  • Defend frontend performance on high-traffic surfaces at enterprise customer scale.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of software engineering experience with deep frontend expertise, including ownership of a surface or system across multiple teams.
  • Strong TypeScript and React skills, with the ability to work across the API boundary; the stack also includes Go.
  • Experience owning and driving adoption of a design system, including migration and enforcement.
  • Strong product and UX judgment, end-to-end workflow understanding, and ability to partner with design and product management.
  • Track record of cross-team influence without direct authority.
  • Strong judgment about technical leverage and prioritization.
  • Experience with data-dense enterprise product interfaces, large collections, filtering, permissions, environments, bulk operations, and performance at scale.
  • Production experience with LLM tool use, MCP, or agent frameworks, plus a perspective on how agent-driven use changes product design.
  • Excellent written communication.
