Responsibilities
- Work with other Stripe leaders to author Stripe’s card payments strategy.
- Develop engineers on the team and help them advance in their careers.
- Empower the engineering team to achieve high technical productivity, reliability, and simplicity.
- Manage processes that help the team do its best work and interface effectively with the rest of Stripe.
- Contribute to engineering-wide initiatives as a member of Stripe’s engineering management team.
- Recruit great engineers in collaboration with Stripe’s recruiting team.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in an engineering management role.
- 8+ years of full-time software development experience.
- Demonstrated success hiring, developing, and mentoring engineers.
- Ability to lead by example in fast-paced, high-impact, and ambiguous environments.
- Commitment to high operational rigor when working with production systems.
- Experience building extensible software solutions that scale with business growth.
- Ability to thrive in collaborative, cross-functional, and cross-timezone environments while fostering a positive team culture.
