Engineer Team Lead, New Markets
Leads the Singapore engineering team while providing Staff-level ownership of scalable brokerage and platform architecture for new markets. The role combines people leadership, backend and distributed-systems expertise, operational excellence, and collaboration with product, compliance, and global engineering stakeholders.

Responsibilities
Technical architecture and delivery
- Architect and ship scalable, mission-critical brokerage systems, including gRPC microservices, REST/gRPC APIs, and vendor integrations.
- Advance the core platform for multi-region, multi-currency, and global regulatory contexts.
- Own API quality, performance, and operational readiness for regional workloads.
Leadership and people
- Lead, coach, and develop engineers in Singapore; set priorities, quality standards, and career-growth expectations.
- Partner with recruiting on regional hiring and interviews.
- Facilitate knowledge sharing and engineering culture across the organization.
Operational excellence
- Act as a senior escalation point for incidents affecting regional stacks.
- Improve monitoring, alerting, and incident response.
- Participate in on-call coverage as appropriate for the team.
Stakeholder collaboration
- Work with Product, Compliance, and local stakeholders on Singapore and regional requirements.
- Collaborate across time zones with US and other regional engineering teams.
Requirements
- Strong backend engineering experience with Go or an equivalent language, and distributed systems at scale.
- Staff-level technical impact, including architecture ownership, cross-team technical leadership, and mentoring.
- People leadership experience, including direct or matrix leadership of engineers, one-on-ones, performance management, and delivery.
- Financial services, fintech, or brokerage experience, including trading lifecycle, settlements, and regulatory awareness.
- Excellent English communication and comfort working with regional and global stakeholders.
Nice to have
- Experience with Singapore or APAC regulatory and market contexts.
- Experience with microservices, Kubernetes, cloud platforms such as GCP or AWS, and event-driven design.
- Open-source contributions or a strong community presence.
