Software Engineer 3, Atlas Search Systems
Build and scale distributed backend systems that manage Atlas Search indexes across cloud environments. The role requires at least two years of backend software experience, distributed systems or cloud-services experience, and proficiency in a modern statically typed language with interest in Java.

Responsibilities
- Contribute to the design, implementation, and support of projects that improve the scalability of Atlas Search for large workloads.
- Collaborate on technical decisions and build distributed systems that provide a reliable customer experience.
- Lead projects and own subsystems.
- Provide input on the team roadmap and help determine system architecture.
- Design, build, test, and maintain industrial-strength backend software in a complex codebase.
- Participate in code reviews, project design reviews, team meetings, and production maintenance.
Requirements
- 2+ years of hands-on experience designing, building, testing, and maintaining industrial-strength backend software in a complex codebase.
- Experience developing distributed systems and cloud services.
- Experience with at least one modern statically typed programming language.
- Interest in working with Java.
- Excellent verbal and written technical communication skills.
- Strong collaboration, ownership, and learning mindset.
Compensation and Benefits
- Base salary range in Canada: $108,000–$149,000 CAD.
