Software Engineer - Money Movement
Build and operate backend infrastructure and APIs for stablecoin-based payments, deposits, withdrawals, and other money movement. The role requires at least two years of backend engineering experience, distributed-systems expertise, cloud proficiency, and blockchain or crypto experience.

Responsibilities
- Own key projects end-to-end as the Directly Responsible Individual (DRI), driving stablecoin-based money movement features from system design through production deployment.
- Build backend systems, infrastructure, and internal and external APIs enabling businesses and partners to embed stablecoin-powered payments.
- Partner with Product, Design, Infrastructure, and Compliance to translate requirements into scalable solutions balancing speed, security, and regulatory needs.
- Improve performance, scalability, and reliability across distributed systems by identifying bottlenecks and driving fixes.
- Contribute to engineering quality through code reviews, architectural best practices, and reusable technical patterns.
Requirements
- 2+ years of software engineering experience building and operating backend systems, ideally in fintech, payments, or crypto.
- Proficiency in backend languages such as Go or Java.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure such as AWS or Google Cloud.
- Hands-on experience designing distributed systems and APIs.
- Experience serving as DRI for technical projects and delivering from system design through production deployment.
- Experience integrating with or building on blockchain or crypto technologies, such as stablecoins, on-chain payments, or smart contract platforms.
- Ability to write technical design documents and communicate architectural trade-offs to product and engineering stakeholders.
- Responsible use of generative AI with human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs and improve workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.
Compensation
- Annual base salary: CAD 154,000.
- Total compensation may also include equity, bonus eligibility, and benefits.
