Principal Procurement Manager

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end procurement lifecycle, including intake, requirements development, sourcing strategy, due diligence, contract review, approvals, execution, onboarding, governance, renewals, and termination.
  • Develop enterprise-wide procurement strategies for SaaS, IaaS, cloud infrastructure, enterprise software, cybersecurity, telecommunications, professional services, and technology-enabled services.
  • Prepare, review, negotiate, execute, and manage complex contracts, renewals, amendments, change orders, statements of work, and other commercial agreements.
  • Lead high-value sourcing initiatives, including RFPs, RFIs, RFQs, competitive bidding, and strategic supplier selection.
  • Define negotiation objectives, sourcing strategies, approval requirements, and commercial positions with business, finance, legal, security, and technology stakeholders.
  • Negotiate pricing, service commitments, liability, data protection, security, intellectual property, termination rights, renewals, and related contractual terms.
  • Drive negotiations and transformation initiatives that deliver cost savings, risk reduction, and operational improvements.
  • Benchmark vendor spend, pricing, contract structures, and service levels; develop total-cost-of-ownership models, should-cost analyses, financial scenarios, and business cases.
  • Partner with Finance on supplier payments, invoices, purchase orders, accruals, forecasts, savings tracking, and financial reporting.
  • Develop procurement metrics, dashboards, scorecards, executive reporting, data governance, and predictive analytics capabilities.
  • Establish supplier governance frameworks, executive reviews, performance reviews, escalation processes, corrective action plans, and continuous improvement programs.
  • Classify, store, and review vendor contracts for compliance with contractual obligations, service levels, security requirements, regulations, and company policies.
  • Manage contract disputes and investigate compliance, supplier performance, pricing, invoicing, and service-level concerns.
  • Identify and mitigate strategic, operational, financial, regulatory, cybersecurity, and third-party risks.
  • Present data-driven recommendations to executive leadership regarding supplier portfolios, sourcing strategies, contract terms, commercial tradeoffs, and risk mitigation.
  • Serve as a subject-matter expert and senior liaison for procurement processes, vendor management, contract administration, commercial strategy, and governance.
  • Lead cross-functional teams, mentor procurement team members, and drive process transformation, automation, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Eight or more years of progressive experience in product and services procurement, strategic sourcing, vendor management, and contract administration, preferably in a technology or high-growth environment.
  • Significant experience leading medium- to large-sized agreements, including SaaS, IaaS, cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, enterprise software, and technology services contracts.
  • Demonstrated experience leading enterprise-wide sourcing strategies, complex negotiations, supplier portfolio decisions, and transformational procurement initiatives.

Nice-to-haves

  • MBA, master’s degree, or other relevant advanced degree.
  • Experience with procurement analytics, automation, advanced procurement technology, and data-driven tools.
