Senior Stock Plan & Payroll Specialist

Administers private-company equity plans and end-to-end payroll for a growing fintech company. The role requires 3+ years of combined payroll and equity experience, advanced Excel skills, and familiarity with HRIS, payroll, and equity-management platforms.

Responsibilities

Stock Plan Administration

  • Administer private-company equity compensation plans, including stock options and RSUs, using equity management software.
  • Process option exercises, cancellations, and restricted stock vesting transactions.
  • Track vesting schedules and grant criteria while maintaining data integrity.
  • Partner with Legal, Finance, and HR on regulatory compliance, financial audit support, and reporting.
  • Serve as the internal subject-matter expert for employee stock-plan questions, account navigation, and exercise processes.

Payroll Administration

  • Process accurate, timely biweekly or semimonthly payroll for 185+ employees using payroll and HRIS platforms.
  • Review, validate, and approve timecards, bonuses, commissions, and deductions.
  • Manage employee onboarding, offboarding, and payroll status changes.
  • Reconcile payroll subledgers to the general ledger and prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end payroll statements.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, New York State, and local tax-withholding laws and labor regulations.
  • Administer wage garnishments and tax levies, and support annual financial and internal audits.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of progressive, hands-on experience handling payroll processing and equity administration.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong working knowledge of HRIS and payroll platforms and dedicated equity-management tools.
  • Familiarity with equity-compensation taxation, global mobility where applicable, and multistate payroll regulations.
  • Exceptional organization, attention to detail, and ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial and HR data.

  • Base salary: $125,000–$150,000.
