Senior Strategic Finance Analyst
Partners with Product and Customer Support leaders on budgets, forecasts, investment decisions, and product economics. Requires 4+ years in finance, strong financial modeling, software subscription-economics knowledge, and preferably SQL proficiency.

Responsibilities
- Serve as the finance business partner to Product and Customer Support leadership, owning budgets and advising on spend decisions, risks, trade-offs, and reallocations.
- Own annual operating plans, including headcount and hiring plans, vendor and program spend, and quarterly reforecasts.
- Own monthly close, accruals, and variance analysis, including clear budget-versus-actual driver explanations.
- Build portfolio views of product investment, returns, roadmap funding, and resource allocation.
- Incorporate cost of revenue and product unit economics into investment analysis.
- Build cost-to-serve analytics by account and segment, including deflection and AI-assisted support economics.
- Develop business cases for product investments, roadmap decisions, product retirement or consolidation, pricing, packaging, and monetization changes.
- Co-own Product Monthly and Quarterly Financial Reviews.
- Improve financial data models, reduce manual analysis, and apply AI to recurring workflows.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in FP&A, strategic finance, product finance, investment banking, or consulting.
- Experience owning a model or forecast relied upon by others.
- Experience owning an operating expense budget or partnering with a non-finance organization on spending.
- Strong modeling skills across driver-based revenue forecasts, operating expense models, and headcount models.
- Working knowledge of software and subscription economics, including ARR, NRR, ARPA, expansion, and gross margin.
- Comfort working with large and complex datasets.
- SQL proficiency strongly preferred.
- Ability to turn analysis into clear recommendations and present to Product, Support, and senior leadership.
- Interest in how software is built and what it costs to operate.
Nice to Have
- Product or Engineering finance partnership experience at a software, data infrastructure, or developer tools company.
- Experience with product margin, cost of revenue, or cost-to-serve analysis.
- Experience supporting Customer Support, Services, or another cost-to-serve organization.
- Experience with usage-based pricing, packaging, or monetization modeling.
- Experience with Pigment, Looker, Tableau, Sigma, Python, or SQL automation.
- Experience in a rapidly scaling company or during IPO preparation.
Compensation and Benefits
- Oakland pay range: $126,220–$151,470 USD.
