Senior Software Engineer, Marketing Enablement & Technology

Responsibilities

• Lead complete projects independently across backend services, APIs, and data pipelines, defining experimentation, development, and rollout strategies across multiple systems with minimal guidance.
• Architect scalable, robust solutions for performance, reliability, and cost efficiency, applying deep technical knowledge to design systems that handle high-throughput marketing operations.
• Identify and solve deeper underlying problems, designing abstractions that simplify complexity and promote reusability across the codebase.
• Partner with Marketing and Product stakeholders to influence features and requirements and balance complexity, business value, and delivery timelines.
• Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, technical guidance, and onboarding support.
• Improve team productivity through process improvements and automation.

Requirements

• 5–8 years of software engineering experience with expert-level proficiency in Python for scalable backend services, APIs, and data pipelines.
• Experience leading projects end-to-end, including architecture design, implementation, experimentation, and production rollout.
• Deep expertise with Snowflake, SQL, ETL processes, and workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow and dbt.
• Ability to design for performance, scalability, and robustness, including comprehensive observability through logging, metrics, and tracing.
• Strong product thinking, research skills, and ability to influence product direction and make strategic technical and business trade-offs.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to mentor engineers, drive cross-team alignment, and explain technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience architecting automation frameworks and reusable abstractions.
• Advanced knowledge of Google Ads, Facebook Ads, and Snapchat Ads APIs and conversion tracking at scale.
• Understanding of digital marketing operations and performance marketing KPIs including ROAS, LTV, CAC, and CPA.
• Experience with cloud cost optimization, chaos engineering, and disaster recovery planning.
• Experience managing technical debt and leading legacy-system modernization.
• Knowledge of security-by-design principles and production incident response.
• Experience leveraging AI tools for productivity improvements and contributing to AI-assisted development infrastructure.

Compensation and Benefits

• Base pay range: CAN$168,000–$177,500 CAD.
• Eligible for a new-hire equity grant and annual refresh grants.
• Benefits are provided according to the employee’s work location.
