Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of systems that optimize cloud spend across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
- Architect solutions for reserved-instance automation, tag-based cost attribution, automated waste-cleanup policy engines, and cross-cloud resource governance.
- Define technical strategy and roadmaps for cloud-efficiency initiatives involving ambiguous, large-scale engineering problems.
- Conduct design reviews and risk assessments for systems supporting core infrastructure.
- Build scalable systems for regression detection and automated resource rightsizing.
- Develop frameworks that measure service efficiency footprints and automated release gates that prevent regressions against efficiency targets.
- Serve as a technical authority for incident management and system-wide performance issues.
- Improve the stability and reliability of internal platform tools.
- Mentor engineers and raise engineering quality and culture across the organization.
- Design AI-driven detection, decisioning, and autonomous remediation systems for continuous cost governance.
Requirements
- 9+ years of experience building production-grade distributed systems.
- Experience with Java, Scala, C++, or Go.
- Experience architecting large-scale infrastructure and cloud-computing systems.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Experience with container orchestration, including Kubernetes or Docker.
- Deep expertise identifying and solving performance bottlenecks in high-throughput distributed environments.
- Ability to drive technical requirements for ambiguous problems.
- Depth in distributed systems and breadth across cloud infrastructure, monitoring, and software lifecycles.
