Engineering Manager, Radar & Insights
Leads and develops an engineering team building Internet measurement, analytics, and large-scale data products including Cloudflare Radar and Speed Test. Requires strong technical judgment in distributed systems and data platforms, operational reliability experience, and effective product partnership.

Responsibilities
- Manage, coach, and grow a team of approximately eight engineers working on Cloudflare Radar, Speed Test, Internet measurement, analytics, and large-scale data systems.
- Own team execution by establishing priorities, enabling predictable delivery, and giving engineers context and autonomy.
- Improve the quality, reliability, usability, and data quality of Radar insights and the systems that produce them.
- Evolve Cloudflare Speed Test and its measurement capabilities.
- Partner with Product Management to shape the roadmap and translate opportunities into engineering problems.
- Make signals from Cloudflare’s network more useful and consumable.
- Explore new product and business opportunities enabled by Internet activity data.
- Own operational health, including observability, incident response, data quality, and long-term reliability.
- Develop technical leaders and enable engineers to lead architecture and implementation.
- Resolve cross-team dependencies and drive complex technical and product decisions to closure.
- Participate in on-call support outside standard working hours when needed.
Requirements
- Experience leading and developing high-performing engineering teams responsible for production software and services.
- Strong technical grounding in distributed systems, data-intensive systems, Internet infrastructure, or related areas.
- Ability to review designs, understand distributed-system or data-platform trade-offs, and identify when deeper technical investigation is needed.
- Experience operating systems where correctness, reliability, and data quality are critical.
- Experience with large-scale data pipelines, analytics platforms, telemetry systems, or measurement infrastructure.
- Track record of hiring, developing, and retaining strong engineers.
- Experience partnering with Product Management to shape and execute a roadmap.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong product judgment and comfort working with ambiguity.
Nice-to-haves
- Familiarity with HTTP, DNS, BGP, routing, or network measurement.
- Experience with very large telemetry or Internet-scale datasets.
- Experience building analytics or insights products for broad audiences.
- Experience identifying opportunities beyond a product’s original scope through its data or infrastructure.
- Familiarity with Cloudflare Radar, Internet measurement research, or tools for understanding Internet performance, availability, and security.
Compensation
- Portugal-based hires: estimated annual salary of €74,000–€111,000.
- Eligible to participate in Cloudflare’s equity plan.
