About the role

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end design for core areas of Runpod’s AI infrastructure platform, from discovery through launch and iteration.
  • Turn complex workflows across compute, deployment, storage, networking, billing, observability, and AI model operations into intuitive user experiences.
  • Move quickly from ambiguity to action: identify UX problems, frame tradeoffs, propose solutions, and drive decisions.
  • Partner closely with Engineering and Product to shape direction, define requirements, and ship high-quality experiences.
  • Create polished flows, prototypes, high-fidelity designs, interaction patterns, and production-ready specs.
  • Define and design systems to enable continuous design-to-code workflows.
  • Raise the craft bar through strong information architecture, visual design, interaction design, UX writing, accessibility, and edge-case thinking.
  • Use customer conversations, usability testing, analytics, and support feedback to find friction and improve the experience.
  • Contribute to Runpod’s design system so the product becomes more consistent, scalable, and distinctive.
  • Create moments of delight through thoughtful defaults, clear feedback, elegant interactions, and details that make the product feel carefully built.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of product design experience, ideally with developer tools, cloud platforms, infrastructure products, AI/ML tools, enterprise software, data products, or technical SaaS.
  • A strong portfolio showing excellent UX thinking, visual craft, interaction design, systems thinking, and the ability to simplify complex products.
  • High urgency and ownership, with a track record of driving design work forward in fast-moving, ambiguous environments.
  • Strong product judgment and the ability to balance user needs, technical constraints, speed, quality, and business impact.
  • Excellent visual and interaction design skills, with sharp attention to hierarchy, layout, typography, spacing, states, flows, and microinteractions.
  • Experience working closely with engineers and product managers to ship technically complex products.
  • Ability to understand workflows involving APIs, infrastructure, cloud platforms, deployment, observability, usage-based pricing, or AI/ML systems.
  • Experience using qualitative and quantitative insights to guide design decisions.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain design rationale clearly and build alignment across teams.
  • Deep care for craft, quality, and the small details that make software feel great.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience designing for developers, AI engineers, infrastructure teams, data scientists, or technical enterprise users.
  • Experience in AI, ML, cloud compute, DevOps, observability, data infrastructure, or usage-based SaaS.
  • Experience with onboarding, activation, dashboards, billing, deployment workflows, or complex configuration experiences.
  • Experience with front-end implementation, design engineering, or prototyping in code.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive base pay ranges from $125,000 - $220,000 (may be inclusive of several career levels; narrowed during interview process based on experience, qualifications, and location).
  • Meaningful equity in a fast-growing company (stock options for everyone on the team).
  • Generous medical, dental & vision plans.
  • Flexible PTO.
  • $1,200 Home Office & Equipment Stipend.
  • Remote-first with inclusive, collaborative teams.
