Senior Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality services according to coding standards and best practices.
• Collaborate with team members and stakeholders on service architecture, with a focus on scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Create robust RESTful APIs and integrate external services while ensuring data consistency and security.
• Design efficient data models, optimize access patterns, and implement caching strategies using distributed SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Build and maintain asynchronous job-processing pipelines with message queues.
• Guide junior team members in planning and executing work.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in services, code, and infrastructure.
• Write unit and integration tests and participate in code reviews.
• Investigate and resolve production issues to maintain system availability.
• Stay current with backend development and cloud technology best practices.
• Use LLMs and AI assistants for code generation, debugging, and design exploration, applying sound engineering judgment when validating their output.

Requirements

• 7+ years of backend development experience, with a strong focus on service development.
• Proficiency in at least one backend programming language and ecosystem, such as Java, Node.js, or Python, with the ability to ramp up quickly in unfamiliar technologies.
• Strong understanding of service architecture principles and best practices.
• Proficiency in RESTful API design and development.
• Strong RDBMS querying and performance-tuning skills, including indexing strategies, shard-key design, query execution plans, and connection-pool management.
• Experience with SQL databases such as SingleStore and MySQL, and NoSQL databases such as MongoDB.
• Experience designing efficient data models and caching strategies, including Redis.
• Hands-on experience integrating LLM and GenAI services, including prompt engineering, tools, agents, and validation of LLM-generated outputs before production execution.
• Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality results on short timelines.
• Experience technically leading and mentoring junior team members and driving planning and execution.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration tools.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
