Manager, Fixed Assets

Manages fixed asset accounting, including CAPEX/OPEX analysis, complex reconciliations, PP&E roll-forwards, reporting, and audit support. The role also leads team development and process improvement, requiring accounting or finance education, fixed asset experience, and people-management experience.

Responsibilities

  • Review purchase requisitions and orders to determine proper CAPEX vs. OPEX treatment.
  • Analyze complex capital accounting entries and reconciliations.
  • Partner with Project Managers, Cost Control, Tax, Finance, Procurement, and Operations to identify and capitalize in-service project assets.
  • Prepare and reconcile monthly and year-to-date PP&E roll-forwards for consolidated and unconsolidated legal entities.
  • Support monthly reporting and fluctuation analysis.
  • Support audit and due diligence requests.
  • Contribute to team performance management, goal setting, and professional development.
  • Drive process improvements and efficiencies and serve as a resource on accounting matters and problem-solving.

Requirements

  • 5–8 years of fixed asset accounting experience combined with general ledger accounting experience.
  • 3–6 years of experience managing and developing teams.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP as it relates to CAPEX vs. OPEX determinations.
  • Familiarity with internal controls, SOX compliance, and accounting best practices.
  • Understanding of consolidations, joint ventures, and intercompany transactions.
  • Exposure to month-end financial reporting processes.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems, reconciliation tools, advanced Microsoft Office, and automation/reporting tools.

  • Compensation range: $115,000–$140,000.
