Responsibilities
- Deliver hands-on technical instruction for onboarding and residency programs, from small labs to large field-readiness sessions.
- Hire, onboard, manage, and develop technical instructors; run hiring processes and make renewal and conversion decisions.
- Define technical-instruction quality standards, including observation rubrics, dry-run protocols, and cleared-to-teach processes.
- Design and run train-the-trainer programs for internal experts, contract instructors, and training partners.
- Assess and certify instructors against technical delivery standards.
- Convert technical content into effective live sessions, labs, and exercises with Technical Enablement Leads.
- Partner with onboarding and Training & Certification teams to staff programs with qualified instructors while owning instructional quality.
- Establish learner-outcome and instructor-quality metrics, review results, and improve instruction.
Requirements
- 8+ years of relevant professional experience in software engineering, solutions engineering, developer advocacy, technical education, or related technical roles.
- 4+ years of hands-on technical instruction for engineers in live settings across varied audience sizes and technical depths.
- Experience writing and shipping production code, including architecture, implementation, debugging, and technical tradeoffs.
- Recent hands-on AI development within the past three years using LLM APIs, agent frameworks, tool use, MCP, or similar technologies.
- Experience managing technical practitioners, including hiring, coaching, performance management, and development, while continuing to teach or deliver technical content.
- Experience designing or running instructor-development programs, instructor certification processes, observation frameworks, or comparable quality systems.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in a relevant field.
Nice-to-haves
- Portfolio of sessions, labs, courses, rubrics, certification programs, or train-the-trainer programs.
- Experience building an instruction or developer-education function from scratch.
- Experience managing contractor or vendor-supplied instructor benches or certifying instructors across regions.
- Experience with Claude Code or a comparable agentic coding tool.
- Experience building on the Claude Developer Platform through Amazon Bedrock, Google Vertex AI, or Microsoft Foundry.
- Public speaking, conference workshops, or community-facing developer advocacy.
- Strong enthusiasm for AI and responsible AI development.
Compensation
- Annual salary: $1–$2 USD.
