HR Business Partner - Engineering, Product, Design

Strategic HR Business Partner supporting Engineering, Product, and Design leaders across Stockholm and London. The role focuses on organizational design, talent and workforce planning, employee relations, leadership coaching, performance programs, and scalable People operations in a high-growth AI company.

Responsibilities

  • Partner strategically with Engineering, Product, and Design leaders on team design, leadership effectiveness, talent density, retention, and change.
  • Experiment with AI-enabled People workflows for manager enablement, insight generation, communications, and operating rhythms.
  • Lead organization design and headcount planning, including reporting lines, role definitions, spans and layers, contractor strategy, and future organizational structure.
  • Run the quarterly Signal Review cycle end-to-end, including manager preparation, calibration, monitor/at-risk categorization, level corrections, and follow-through.
  • Use qualitative signals and people data to identify hotspots, flight risks, manager gaps, and team-level patterns, then develop practical interventions.
  • Manage complex employee relations matters, performance improvement plans, investigations, resignations, probation issues, and terminations in partnership with Legal and People Operations.
  • Coach technical leaders on difficult conversations, promotion readiness, organizational changes, feedback, accountability, and team health.
  • Help shape and roll out People programs covering manager enablement, career pathing, leveling consistency, compensation cycles, engagement follow-up, and change management.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience as an HR Business Partner or People Partner.
  • Meaningful experience supporting Engineering, Product, Design, Research, or similarly technical organizations.
  • Experience at an AI-native, developer-tools, product-led, or high-growth technology company.
  • Strong business judgment and ability to connect people decisions to company priorities, product velocity, leadership effectiveness, and team performance.
  • Excellent judgment in sensitive employee relations situations, including performance, conduct, probation, resignation, and termination matters.
  • Ability to provide candid feedback to senior technical leaders while maintaining strong relationships and discretion.
  • Comfort with ambiguity, rapid pace, and evolving systems.
  • Professional fluency in English.
