Head of Growth Marketing
The Head of Growth Marketing will own Upbound’s full-funnel, paid, lifecycle, self-serve, and AI-native marketing programs while building the growth function and team. The role requires 10+ years of B2B marketing experience, strong analytics, budget ownership, and experience reaching technical buyers.

Responsibilities
- Own full-funnel growth for Upbound’s commercial platform, with Crossplane and Modelplane driving open-source top-of-funnel activity.
- Set the campaign roadmap and program budget, and conduct business reviews with marketing and sales leadership.
- Lead paid media strategy, including channel mix, targeting, and efficiency against company and sales targets.
- Own lifecycle marketing and marketing operations, including the marketing automation platform, attribution model, and funnel reporting.
- Improve conversion, organic search, and AI-answer visibility across upbound.io and modelplane.ai.
- Own the self-serve motion from signup through activation and paid conversion in partnership with product and engineering.
- Build and manage a growth team over several quarters.
- Manage agency and vendor relationships and drive efficiency.
- Evaluate, pilot, and adopt AI-native marketing tools and workflows.
- Replace manual reporting with AI-assisted analysis and accelerate campaign production.
- Build agentic workflows for list building, enrichment, signal routing, and post-campaign analysis.
- Establish review standards for AI-assisted marketing work.
Requirements
- 10+ years of B2B marketing experience, including at least 3 years leading growth, demand generation, or acquisition.
- Experience owning a meaningful program budget and explaining allocation, returns, and reductions.
- Hands-on experience with advertising platforms, marketing automation, dashboards, and marketing data.
- Experience introducing AI tools into marketing workflows and evaluating their effectiveness.
- Strong marketing analytics skills, including opportunity sizing, test design, and defending performance metrics.
- Experience marketing to technical buyers, ideally platform engineers or infrastructure teams.
- Experience building or managing a small team.
- Ability to work autonomously and collaborate effectively.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in open source, developer tools, cloud infrastructure, or AI infrastructure.
- Experience running both sales-led and self-serve growth motions at the same company.
- Experience with intent data and account signal tools.
- Experience building an AI workflow, script, internal tool, or agent.
- Contributions to a technical community.
