Leads backend infrastructure teams building scalable, secure services and products for Databricks’ data and AI platform. The role requires large-scale distributed-systems experience, engineering management experience, and strong technical and people leadership.

Responsibilities
- Build infrastructure and products for the Databricks platform at scale.
- Develop resource management infrastructure for big data and machine learning workloads in a scalable, secure, and cloud-agnostic way.
- Develop reliable, scalable services and client libraries for massive amounts of cloud data across geographic regions and cloud providers.
- Build tools that enable engineers to operate services across different clouds and environments.
- Build services, products, and infrastructure at the intersection of machine learning and distributed systems.
- Hire great engineers and build an outstanding team.
- Support engineers' career development through clear feedback and leadership development.
- Maintain high technical standards through architecture reviews, testing, and an engineering-excellence culture.
- Work with engineering and product leadership to build a long-term roadmap.
- Coordinate execution and collaborate across teams to unblock cross-cutting projects.
- Partner with product management, sales, and customers to develop innovative features.
Requirements
- Experience with large-scale distributed web services and processes involving testing, monitoring, and service-level agreements (SLAs).
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field.
- 5 years of engineering experience and 2 years of engineering management experience.
