Responsibilities
- Build and ship full SEO and AEO features end-to-end, from development through experimentation and rollout.
- Design, build, and ship high-quality full-stack features that improve search engine visibility, AI answer engine performance, and organic traffic.
- Apply technical best practices to deliver performant, observable, and cost-aware code that improves search rankings, LLM visibility, and user experience.
- Contribute to SEO and AEO data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and delivery.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and marketing partners to translate user needs into technical requirements, surface trade-offs, and deliver shared goals.
Requirements
- 2–4 years of software engineering experience.
- Proficiency with React, Ruby, Python, PostgreSQL, and SQL.
- Ability to build and launch complete features end-to-end with minimal oversight, including development, experimentation, and production rollout.
- Experience with distributed systems and data engineering, including pipeline design, schema optimization, and data quality.
- Exposure to Airflow or dbt.
- Ability to write performant code and improve observability through logging and metrics.
- Ability to identify and resolve technical bottlenecks.
- Strong product mindset and ability to translate user needs into technical requirements.
- Effective cross-functional communication and collaboration.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with SEO/AEO initiatives, SEO best practices, Schema.org, search engine crawling and indexing, or Core Web Vitals.
- Familiarity with AI-powered search engines, LLM content consumption, and AI answer generation.
- Experience with Apache Spark, Hadoop, NoSQL databases, Snowflake, or Redshift.
- Experience addressing technical debt.
- Experience launching experiments, analyzing results, and using A/B testing frameworks to measure SEO/AEO impact.
- Experience partnering with marketing teams on growth initiatives in startup environments.
Compensation and Benefits
- Base pay: CA$145,000–CA$153,000 CAD.
- Eligible for a new hire equity grant and annual refresh grants.
- Benefits are provided according to the employee's work location.
