Responsibilities
- Participate as a full member of the assigned engineering team, contributing to discussions, decisions, and technical design.
- Write production software with meaningful impact on Stripe’s business and users.
- Give and receive technical feedback through code reviews and design discussions.
- Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional stakeholders to seek and incorporate feedback.
- Learn unfamiliar systems quickly, communicate work status clearly, and use current AI tooling responsibly.
Requirements
- Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, mathematics, or a related discipline, with a strong foundation in computer science.
- Programming experience through coursework, side projects, internships, or similar work.
- Experience with internships or other multi-person projects, including open-source contributions, demonstrating collaboration and feedback incorporation.
- Ability to research unfamiliar systems and develop understanding with support from mentors or subject-matter experts.
- Ability to use AI tools to accelerate development while critically reviewing, refining, and validating outputs.
- Clear written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least one year of university education or equivalent work experience.
- Specialized knowledge in frontend, backend, infrastructure, or other technology areas alongside broad technical skills.
- Experience writing high-quality pull requests with good test coverage and minimal defects.
- Familiarity with navigating and managing work in new codebases containing multiple languages.
